      East and Central European Studies is a study abroad program for English-speaking students facilitated by the Faculty of Arts International Office at Charles University. Students who study with ECES have full access to Faculty of Arts resources, receive a Charles University student ID card, and take classes with English-speaking Faculty of Arts. The university consists of 17 colleges and enrolls more than 50, students. Students can take up to six semester credits in the Eastern and Central European Studies Department (ECES) at Charles University, which is located in Prague’s Old Town.

The East Central European Center at the Harriman Institute concerns itself with the countries and peoples in the geographical arc from Bulgaria, (ex-) Yugoslavia, Romania in the southeast of Europe, through Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia in the center, to Poland and the Baltic states in northeastern Europe.
